Alexandra Cherkun is a Los Angeles based artist. She began her artistic journey in Ukraine, where she was born and raised. Her formal studies began at The College of Applied and Theatrical Arts and continued at The Kiev Nat’l Institute of Fine and Applied Arts & Design, where she specialized in Monumental Arts and from which she graduated in 2009

“Art is a phenomenon that is born within you. Like a child, it develops and grows with you through all the stages of personal identity until it reaches maturity, just like a human being. Everything that happens in a person’s life is mirrored in one’s work, reflecting the fine details of personality and essence.”

After many years working with many different styles, such as oil, pencil, batik, stained glass, watercolor.and gouache, eventually, something new emerged.

In the visionary collection, Alexandra presents her own identity, matured by years of searching and practice.

“This is my reflection; my admiration of the game of passion. It’s a dance between light and shadow, and the birth of eternal questions.” 

She works with silver glitter ink on black cardboard, and ink on silk. Her work is visionary, replete with fantasy, and inspired by her quest into spirituality through meditation and plant medicine.
